More on religion

Editor's note: This letter comes in response to a letter to the editor from Thomas Dahlheimer in the
April 27 Messenger. I (and many folks I know will attest to this) am sane and aware of what modern day
science teaches.
There are many Christians who are offended by Thomas' statement that Christianity was established "on a creation myth, as if it were
literally true."
I am also a practicing Roman Catholic and I take offense to Thomas' disrespect of the Catechism of the
Catholic Church and also the naming of the "foundational dogma of the Roman church being fundamentally deceptive."
Newly discovered scientific truth has made it an outdated religion?
Where are you getting this — newly discovered "truth"?
Recall, Thomas, what Pilate said to Jesus, my and millions of other peoples' Messiah, and Savior. Pilate asked Him "What is truth?"
Well, I tell you, Thomas, what I and millions of others believe. "Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through Him." John 14:6. We can say that, but we must also live it.
Humble yourself and do yourself a favor by acknowledging that He is your Savior.
We have several "gurus" living nearby at Crosier Monastery. A guru is after all a spiritual teacher. A revered teacher or mentor.
Perhaps you might find out the beautiful "truths" of the Catholic Church from any of them.
Keep in mind you are welcome "home" any time.
And, remember also "religions," at least ours, do not "threaten" one with hell, one chooses it.
Sincerely,
Kathy Martinson,
Isle
